Can 9i and 10g database run on same Machine? [message #234941]

Will there be problems installing a 10g database on the same server that already has a 9i database running in it? Should the 9i database be removed first before installing 10g? Is it even possible to have both running in the same machine? Machine's OS is Windows.

Yes, it's possible to run diffrent version in the same machines.

It is possible but in different ORACLE_HOME.

How about listener.i think we have to use 10g listener .

Not necessary, you can use diffrent listeners as your ORACLE_HOME is diffrent.

During startup and shutdown you have to require to down on both the versions. You can create script for the same.
